Theme is “Choose Well, Eat Well”
The Columbus County Community Farmers Market is sponsoring the sixth annual poster contest for all public and private school students (including home schooled students), kindergarten through 5th grade, in Columbus County.
"The theme for this year’s poster contest is ‘Choose Well, Eat Well,’” said Kip Godwin, marketing consultant for the Farmers Market, "We hope the theme will remind everyone of the importance of making healthy choices including eating fresh fruits and vegetables and being physically active.”
Primary and elementary school students are encouraged to create a poster that effectively highlights the importance of choosing good nutrition, regular exercise, and healthy activities and how farms, farmers, and the farmers market support and promote better health for the residents of Columbus County.
The overall winner will receive a Farmers Market t-shirt and a $50 gift certificate. One winner in each other grade level will receive a $25 gift certificate. Gift certificates are redeemable at the Columbus County Community Farmers Market during the 2013 season. In addition to the prizes, the overall poster contest winner will have his or her artwork incorporated into the official 2013 Farmers Market promotional poster and published in Farmers Market News magazine.
All entries must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 22, in order to be considered.
